Recent Workshops and Performance

 

I'm not writing all the performances and workshops I've done in 2008 here as I'm sure you don't want to know everything I'm doing!  I'll put in a few updates though in order to give you a flavour of some of my most recent workshops and performances and I'll leave the list of some past workshops too.

 

2008 included:

  • Reading Christmas Poems on BBC Cov/Warks 23rd December
  • University of Warwick Chorus and Chamber Choir 'Illumina' Concert at Coventry Cathedral.
  • Chief guest at Bengali Arts Event (Arena Theatre, Wolverhampton) Speech and poetry reading (November 08)
  • BBC appearances on various local radio stations eg: Radio WM Breakfast Show and various BBC Radio Cov/Warks shows including early birds with Liz Kershaw, a series of Coffee Club appearances on Annie Othen's show and looking through the papers with Trish on Sunday. Poems also continue to be broadcast on National radio.
  • Concert, Warwick University Chorus, Coventry Cathedral (Friday 28th November)
  • Pre-Concert in- conversation and reading with Fiona Sampson and Kathy Hinde (Town Hall, Birmingham. 9th December)
  • readings for a variety of local writing groups eg: Leam Writers
  • After dinner speaker at literary events eg: Marston Green Writers Annual Dinner
  • voice over recordings eg: Trilby Studio projects
  • University Readings eg: Oxford University
  • Schools workshops including Walmley School, Ledbury Poetry Festival Schools, Warwick Words Festival Schools, Turves Green and many other schools... most recently Bawnmore, Rugby.
  • Adult creative writing groups eg: Harborne
  • Mentoring eg:  mentoring of artist funded by Arts Council (Sean Kelly) and mentoring of teacher on Creativity (Lyng Hall School) funded by Creative Partnerships.
  • Words and Willows workshops at the National Memorial Arboretum

There have been various events (workshops and readings) that were not open to the public, a number of audio recordings in studios and I have also been working on a number of mixed arts projects throughout the year. A few more projects are in the planning stages and hopefully will lead to national and international performances in 2009 and 2010.
