DVD: A DVD was produced by Jake Lewis-Schulle for use in universities in India. This was used successfully in the 2007 three day seminar in Gujarat.  Julie discusses her views on poetry, is in conversation with Brian Lewis and she reads some of her poetry from the Aheenthi collection.

 

Poetry Commissions Include:  BBC Radio 3, Concrete Spaghetti, Birmingham City Council, Emote Media, Creative Partnerships, Birmingham Libraries, Bio diversity Forum, Tolkien Society, NHS,  Sure Start, Centre of the Child, Arts Council of England, Scholastic Publications,  Warwick Festival, Pershore Jazz Festival, Poetry Pals, Play and Sing and English Serenata,  Most recently a number of other works have been created with composers and musicians at Symphony Hall. Other commissions have involved helping schoolchildren to create poetry to be performed alongside music, creating libretto to accompany existing music and working with Andrew Downes to create a new musical piece ‘Songs of the Skies’ from the poetry created during poetry workshops. This particular project was part of Julie’s residency at Symphony Hall and was commissioned by British Airways. 

 

Radio and Television: Broadcasts include: Radio 3’s The Verb and Concrete Spaghetti; Radio 4's Front Row, Women's Hour, Poetry Please and  Poetry Societies ; Radio 5 live,  Late night Currie: The World Service ; local radio stations including BRMB ,Radio WM and  BBC Cov/Warks.  Poetry is broadcast on Radio Wildfire, Resonance FM.  Julie has been filmed by the BBC and this was shown on local TV. She has also recorded poetry for two independent companies.
